I'one thousand not able to get the program to perform the nearly basic functions such as depict a circle or foursquare or a triangle. Some of the other tools work only not many. I tried uninstalling using iObit Uninstaller and reinstalling from the Inkscape site using exe. The first fourth dimension around I downloaded using compressed archive in 7z format 64 bit. With the start install I was able to draw an ellipsis and circle but that no longer worked on the second download.
I'm beginning to suspect I volition take to reinstall Microsoft Edge which I had uninstalled because information technology was muscling in on functions that had worked perfectly well earlier I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 such equally Acrobat Reader.
Are there any other possible fixes that come to mind?
Cheers.
Peter
The virtually likely reason is that you've managed to get some settings that are causing objects to be drawn invisibly. This could be because they've got no stroke or fill up, because of opacity or blastoff, considering of filters, or a number of other reasons. Endeavour the following to at least determine if that's the problem:
If you can run into a sparse outline of the ellipse, then Inkscape is cartoon it okay, but something nigh the settings is making information technology invisible. Select it, take a screenshot of the whole window (make sure peculiarly to include the status bar at the bottom) and adhere it to your answer and we may be able to help.

Still you sent your first respond, it didn't brand it to this thread. Did you perhaps reply to the notification e-mail? That won't piece of work - you demand to come to the forum and post, as you appear to accept done with your almost contempo submission.
Regarding the attachment: what I requested was a screenshot, rather than the SVG file, and then that nosotros could too see some details of your Inkscape setup. Nevertheless, on opening the file in Inkscape I can encounter that the ellipse has the opacity prepare to zero - making it transparent. Setting that to 100% won't be plenty on its ain, nevertheless, every bit it too has no fill and the stroke is unset, so even at total opacity there'due south not really anything visible to describe.
Please try the following:
Please report back every bit to whether or not that worked.
Thank you very much Xav! :) I take just installed the last version of Inkscape and had the same upshot.
Solved with signal 3.
